Bath String Quartet can provide musicians for weddings, concerts, corporate functions, military dinners, charity fundraising events, funerals, film work, educational music workshops and session musicians. In fact, as well as having experience in all of the above, they are available for any other event requiring live music!
The Bath String Quartet players are all well-established musicians from the Bath area who provide high quality music. Due to the popularity and success of the original group, the quartet is now able to provide more than one quartet in a day. The quartet as a whole is a member of the Guild of Professional Wedding Services, and all musicians have been auditioned for their positions. The majority of players are music graduates, and those who are not, have proven their worth over many years, playing in local ensembles from Bath Philharmonia to Bath Baroque. Whichever combination of musicians is provided for your event they will be of the highest quality.
Music can range from stylish and elegant classical music for your formal dinner to livelier jazz and ragtime for evening dances. The quartet is happy to arrange special requests given sufficient notice and may even theme music for your event. Whatever your event or required programme of music, the quartet is always happy to discuss your individual requirements.
Besides weddings, the Bath String Quartet is able to perform at public concerts and organised events, offering formal concerts of ‘serious’ quartet repertoire, lighter entertainment concerts of ‘classical pops’ or even a ‘Jazz, Swing & Ragtime’ evening.
A string quartet can create a relaxing atmosphere which will provide the perfect accompaniment to your business event, whether it be for a product launch, as background atmosphere for your client dinner or as a show piece ‘concert’ to entertain guests.

Bath String Quartet has played for numerous corporate events over the years. Past performances have included the unveiling of the new Lexus at their show room in Bristol, the Tortworth Court restaurant re-opening, a corporate dinner for Sweet & Maxwell pension lawyers, the opening of the Bryant Homes Badgworth Court development, a performance for Sift Software and the Avren conference at the Bath Spa Hotel. In addition, the quartet has performed at charity fundraising events for PKF Accounting of Bristol and Cancer Research UK and organised their own charity concert in aid of the National Osteoporosis Society. The quartet have also played at a celebrity event for the Paul Weiland Film Company and recorded and filmed music for Quite Persuasive Films Ltd.
The quartets listening audience has included celebs such as Martin Clunes, George Baker, Classic FM executives, Nick Mason, Ruby Wax and Harry Enfield amongst others.
2006 has also seen the quartet’s male members get involved in the filming of ITV’s production of Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’. The quartet was asked to perform the fourth movement of Mozart’s ‘Dissonance’ quartet.
The guide fees given on this site are based on 2 hours hire time for the String Trio and include travel costs within our local area.
For venues further afield we would usually increase the minimum fee/hire time to 3 hours.
For the String Quartet you will need to add approximately £100 to the prices quoted.
Fees are based on the hire period (not playing time) and include musicians breaks:
2 hours hire time including 15 mins break
3 hours hire time including 2 x 15 mins break
4 hours hire time including 3 x 15 mins break
NB: Break times are flexible according to a clients' schedule for the event
