Blue-Heart Mitch And The Blazin' Jacks are a great party band who can provide three different types of set; ska, soul & rock’n’roll hits of the 1960s to the year 2012 as well as jazz, swing & jive hits of the 1930s to the 1960s and a whole set of classic ska. All are great fun with interactive audience participation in both genres & include around two hours of live playing.

The jazz sets can be played as background music for a light & classy afternoon or as a fully engaging evening of dance-floor-filling music featuring some of jazz’s finest & most memorable songs.

Three different eras of vintage music available:

30s – 60s jazz, swing & jive
60s – 00s ska, soul & rock’n’roll, disco and rock
60s - 80s classic ska

Highlights:

choose any era or have jazz in the afternoon plus a rocking evening set
engaging performance including audience participation with fun singing & dancing

1st dance played live – band also willing to learn a song for a guest to sing if they wish
iPod-DJ available with play list of your choice before and after the band play

The band's singer, Mitch, has a great ‘feel’ for passionate music & loves engaging in a friendly & entertaining dialogue with audiences as well as incorporating participatory singing & dancing with the audience into the show. If the audience are shy, he will hold back & go easy on them but if it’s a party you want, he will be in his element.

Saxophone / clarinet strongly recommended, especially good for funking up the ska & soul and sweetening the jazz, fantastic if your budget will stretch
Percussionist – congas, bongos, timbale’, shakers – awesome for grooving up the rhythm section
First dance live – the band will learn any song for your first dance
Ceremony music – live piano & / or vocals & clarinet played before & during your ceremony – any music of your choice
iPod DJ – any songs of your choice played through a PA via ipod (before & after the band)
Late finish after 12 midnight

We spent a lot of time researching the type of act we wanted for our wedding and finally settled on Blue-Heart Mitch and the Blazin Jacks, primarily because of their extensive and excellent repertoire (you'll struggle to find a bad song) and the positive feedback we came across on various sites. We were not disappointed. Each member of the band is a superb musician and together they create an impressive sound, aided by a top quality set-up and light show. Mitch is a born entertainer and a brilliant frontman who managed to persuade young and old onto the dancefloor. We had so many positive comments after the wedding about the quality of the band. Each band member has charisma, a quirky style and magical personalities, which shine through in their performances. The band learnt and performed several of our favourite songs brilliantly, making our day personal to us and giving us memories we will cherish forever. Mitch had everyone rocking on the dance floor, even Ian’s 83 year old Nan. He managed to get our guests learning some ‘monkey’ dance moves, which was hilarious. The band members each average at least 15 years performance experience & have engaged in tours around various areas of the world including the Alps, The Caribbean, Dubai, America and Mainland Europe. They have a broad range of professional experience between them ranging from theatre, classical music, pop music, studio recording & writing for television & dance as well as corporate performance and mainstream festivals such as Glastonbury, The Secret Garden Party, Download and The Big Chill.

Outside of the band it’s members play & teach various instruments & styles of music from classical to samba and salsa, traditional African music to Electronic dance & live dub-reggae.

They have all performed at venues of notoriety including The Royal Albert Hall and The Royal Festival Hall in London, The Lincoln Centre & Madison Square Gardens in New York, The World Art Stage in Edinburgh, The Queen’s Hall Theatre in Trinidad, Courchevel Ski-slope in France and The Yorkshire Playhouse and York Minster.

Four members of Blue-Heart Mitch And The Blazin' Jacks have honours degrees in music & all the members have written & recorded their own material.

Blue-Heart Mitch And The Blazin' Jacks are insured for public liability of up to two million pounds & their equipment is PAT tested & certified.

Standard equipment:

PA - 3000w includes 2 X 500w speakers & a 1Kw sub plus two on stage monitors of 500w each.
Lights – 8 X 108 LED parkans & two twisters.
Extra large PAs & lighting rigs can be arranged for larger venues.
The band are happiest arriving early and playing a jazz set for an extra fee, followed by two evening dance-floor filling sets.
The band are also keen to play with their saxophone player which also requires an extra fee.

2 x 60 minute performances as standard with an optional extra hour of jazz earlier in the evening.
