The Cardiff String Quartet works in South Wales, including Newport, Bridgend and Caerphilly, and provides high quality music for weddings, corporate and military dinners. Whatever your celebration or event you can be assured of a professional service for your special day and all at competitive costs.

Cardiff String Quartet can also provide a string trio, solo violinist or cellist to suit your budget and space requirements. Their repertoire includes classical and romantic music, as well as more popular jazz, swing, ragtime, modern and tunes from the shows.

The quartet uses musicians of the highest quality, with its players being principally music graduates from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and young, seasoned professionals from the Cardiff area, most of whom have had experience of playing in professional orchestras. The Cardiff String Quartet affords you access to some of the most talented up and coming young musicians in the country.

The Cardiff String Quartet are able to provide a varied performance of elegant and stylish background music for all occasions with a repertoire including many of the great Classical quartets by composers such as Mozart and Haydn, as well as popular classics from Delibes, Handel, Elgar, Bach, Pachelbel and Saint-Saens. Furthermore, if a more light-hearted programme is required, the quartet is able to play show tunes, ragtime, jazz, swing and arrangements of modern pop songs. The quartet is also happy to provide arrangements of any special requests.

The Cardiff String Quartet is a highly reputable group whose experience allows them to know what makes the quintessential musical accompaniment to your special day.

The Cardiff String Quartet has previously performed at numerous wedding ceremonies, receptions, after dinner dances, anniversary parties and ceremonial military dinners, at venues around Cardiff; from Cardiff Castle to the Wales Millennium Centre and St David’s Hall.

The guide fees given on this site are based on 2 hours hire time for the String Trio and include travel costs within our local area.

For venues further afield we would usually increase the minimum fee/hire time to 3 hours.

For the String Quartet you will need to add approximately £100 to the prices quoted.

2 hours hire time including 15 mins break

3 hours hire time including 2 x 15 mins break

4 hours hire time including 3 x 15 mins break

NB: Break times are flexible according to the schedule for the event
