Copacaband specialises in corporate and private functions with a Latin theme. The world class band is made up of accomplished Brazilian and International musicians.
The group has been working together for over 5 years and playing at prestigious functions, award ceremonies and festivals all over the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The group is also perfect for weddings with a difference!
The group’s repertoire includes styles from across the Latin spectrum such as: Samba, Salsa, Lambada, Merengue, and Latin Pop from artists like Ricky Martin and Gloria Estefan amongst others.
Their experience says that every event is different and because of this they are able to offer a variety of additional options with the band, such as: an exciting ‘carnival style’ dance show, a vibrant salsa dancing couple, ‘Batucada’- Brazillian drum show and more.
The band requires approximately 2 hours set up and soundcheck time and a performance space of ideally, 6m x 5m (add this space again if a dance show is required).
The band utilises a state of the art PA system and lighting rig, which comprises the following: 3k rig, (suitable for audiences of up to 500 people), 1 x 32-channel passive mixing desk, 2 x active 15” 500 watt top speakers, 3 x active 12” monitors, 1 x smaller active mixer and up to 4 passive monitors, 1 x in ear monitoring system 1 x 1000 watt amp (for bass speakers) 2 x 18” passive bass speakers.
Lighting rig details: 8 x 300 watt par cans (par56), 2 x twisters (disco lights) 1 x controller.
The band is on a mission to bring the heat and energy of Latin America to your event!

The best option musically, and for greatest impact, is for the full band (9 people). The line up and instrumentation of which is: Drums, Percussion, Bass/ Vocals, Keyboard, Guitar, Lead Vocalist, Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone. In addition, 2 or 5 dancers with the full band have a fantastic impact. The dance show may either be a couple, or five dancers doing a choreographed routine, either playing with the band, or doing 20 – 30min sets after the bands main sets with Drums/ Percussion, full ‘Batucada’, with the band or to a CD.
However, Copacaband also perform as a 6-piece band, minus brass section.
Further line-ups and add-ons include:
• Instrumental Jazz – Latin Trio for a reception, or as guests are being seated etc.
• Batucada – Brazilian drum show (works well with dancers)
• Dance show, 2 or 5 female dancers performing a choreographed routine in full costume with the band, Batucada or CD
• DJ
• Stage
• Dancefloor
• Starcloth (to be used as a backdrop for the band)
• PA system for more than 500 people (10k rig)
