The only thing more Mexican than Tequila is the Mariachi.
Mariachi goes beyond music – it is the sum of the cultural revolution expressed through a group of musicians dressed in beautiful costume. It encompasses the essence of Mexico and it’s people and it is something cultural, spiritual and traditional that is unique to this country.
Mariachi Mexteca is a London based Mariachi act created from an authentic ensemble of professional Mexican musicians and singers, bringing together artists from the Americas. The director of Mariachi Mexteca, Salvador Jimenez Hernandez, is a professional and experienced Mariachi musician from Guadalajara, Mexico and has devoted his life to music following in the footsteps of his father and forefathers.
If you ever want to experience the real Mexico, this is the music that will take you there and Mariachi Mexteca are the people to guide you.

Hi Tracey, We loved Mariachi Mexteca and so did everyone else. The guys were very professional and friendly and I would certainly recommend them.
Paul & Catherine Norman, Private Party, Old Bridge Hotel in Cambridge
Tracey, what can I say! The guys were a totally professional band. They arrived in plenty of time and so were able to discuss the layout of the venue and how they would perform. They produced 2 fantastic sets, the first being the more romantic and moody arrangements and the second very lively which had everyone present up and dancing. Of course La Bamba is always a favourite but the bands performance was electric. At my request they finished with Guantanamera which is a particular favourite, needless to say I wasn't disappointed. The guys gave us a fabulous evening and I was pleased that I opted for the 5 piece. With regard to yourselves, Great web site with clear information, Easy booking procedure, Confirmation call beforehand to check everything was OK, the band were everything I expected. So, I think I can say that I struggle to find any faults and will be pleased to use the Agency again.
Jemima Reynolds, 21st Party, Buckinghamshire
Dear Tracey, Mariachi Mexteca were the perfect summer evening's entertainment: gentle guitars and margaritas as the sun went down couldn't be bettered. Many thanks.
The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor Alderman John Stuttard
Thank you so much for coming to the Mansion House to entertain me and my guests on the 21 September. The evening was a great success and your music was thoroughly enjoyed by all. I noticed a lot of foot tapping whilst you were going round the tables playing. Please thank the players in the band for providing us with such excellent entertainment- they were certainly events to be remembered and treasured. I have received numerous compliments from the guests who were thrilled and delighted by the bands enthusiastic renditions of popular Mexican music.
Jose Luis Jauregui, Corona Extra, London
We have used the Mariachi Band of Salvador Jimenez on numerous occasions and the band has been both professional and entertaining on all occasions. On a professional basis we have not experienced any problems with the band at any of the promotions and their timekeeping has been exemplary. Their quality in music is excellent and I am yet to see an audience that did not find them entertaining or indeed an outlet that did not see the band as an excellent addition to a promotion night. Corona Extra has no hesitation in recommending the band and end by saying that we are pleased to recommend the band that has always been professional and treat every time they play as a good opportunity to create a party atmosphere and allow people to see and enjoy a small part of Mexican culture.
Vanda Moyse, The London Architecture Biennale
With the Biennale over for another year I wanted to write and thank you for making our event on Saturday 17th June such a success. I appreciate that it was a different format to that which you usually play but your music added just the right note to the event. I have had several enquiries about you and have passed on your details. Thanks again.
Rebecca King Lassman, Act IV
We recently enjoyed the services of Salvador Jiminez and his band Mariachi Mexteca, for an event we organised at Tate Modern on behalf of Bloomberg. This was a party organised with extremely short notice and Salvador agreed to play during the drinks party to entertain our guests. The band were absolutely fantastic, judging the mood of the evening perfectly. They provided the perfect backdrop to an evening based around the exhibition of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and even managed to get some of our corporate guests to dance along to the music. I would highly recommend Mariachi Mexteca to anyone wishing to have a fantastic evening’s entertainment.
Emma Braid-Taylor
I’m writing to let you know how much I enjoyed watching you and your mariachi band at the Mexico Gallery in Fleet Road, Hampstead last year and listening to the beautiful music you played. It was heart-warming to see everyone having such a good time dancing to your music. You all looked so magnificent and there was no doubt that your guitar-playing and singing were of the highest professional standard. You impressed me and my friends tremendously with the high quality and soul of your music and I very much look forward to hearing you perform in the future.
The British Mexican Society
We have hired Mariachi Mexteca as a band, quartet and trio and in every occasion they have arrived punctually and their artistic performance has been up to what we would expect from a good quality Mariachi group within Mexico.
