The Allestri String Quartet are a professional string ensemble that specialise in providing live music for weddings, recitals, parties, religious occasions, receptions, dinners and corporate events. They are based in the beautiful highlands of Scotland but regularly travel further afield to entertain at special occasions.
As well as performing as a string quartet the group also play as a string trio, string duo or violin and piano duo.
The members of The Allestri String Quartet are all classically trained musicians with many years of experience in playing for weddings and special occasions. The members of the quartet have played individually with many of the major British symphony orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. They have also performed as part of the orchestra with many international soloists including Jose Carreras, Vanessa May and Lesley Garrett. As well as a classical music background, members of the quartet have toured with Led Zeppelin and played for the west end show ‘The Phantom of the Opera’.
The Allestri String Quartet is able to create a beautiful atmosphere for your wedding ceremony and can play for every part of your civil or religious wedding, including the accompaniment for hymns or soloists. The quartet also offers a music arrangement service whereby they are able to compose an arrangement of a special song to be played as you walk down the aisle, as you sign the register, or as you walk down the aisle together at the end of your ceremony. The Allestri String Quartet also provides an elegant atmosphere for entertaining clients or for your company celebration. They can tailor their repertoire to suit any occasion and arrange specific pieces appropriate to your theme or requirements.

This versatile group of musicians has played for weddings and given recitals at many of the Scottish castles including Duart Castle on the Isle of Mull and Eilean Donan Castle, as featured in the film 'Highlander'.
Other engagements undertaken by members of the quartet include entertainment for 1st class guests of Cunard aboard the QE2, and playing at the Cannes Film Festival.
