Tom and Laura, Wedding, Cheltenham
The Black Powder Rockets played at my wedding in June and were absolutely superb. We had 110 guests in a marquee in a meadow and the guys played after dinner. The dancefloor was rammed, and jumping, all night and my wife and I had numerous questions from the guests about where we had found such a great band to play for us. Their set was spot on and catered perfectly for our friends and for some of the older guests.
Nicky and Si, Wedding, Oxford
Thank you so much to the Black Powder Rockets for playing at our wedding at Kirtlington Park. Simon and I were thrilled with your performance as were all the guests. Hopefully you had a good time too and managed to enjoy some hog roast in between sets. There was some energetic dancing fuelled by a well stocked bar and a perhaps over enthusiastic glo stick and shot ski crowd. We look forward to seeing you play in the upcoming ski season.
Sevi and Rosie Rixson, Wedding, Chateau Soulac, France
Ed and the boys from The Black Powder Rockets drove through the night from Val d'Isere to play at our wedding despite the arrival of Ed's new born just hours before. They were very professional and went above and beyond. Most importantly the quality of their music was exceptional and they had the whole party dancing including both the groom and his mum leaping around like loonies. Extremely highly recommended. Further to this would you pass this on to the boys and notably Ed for his big sacrifice in order to fulfill the commitment he had promised to do. I truly thought they were exceptionally good and We loved it.
Cath and Tom, Wedding, Valais, Switzerland
The Black Powder Rockets totally rocked our wedding. They hiked up to the top of a mountain to play for us, and had the dance floor jumping from the moment they started playing until the early hours. The venue only had a limited set up time but they were so professional, we didn't need to worry about a thing. They knew exactly what to play to suit the crowd and had both the oldies and younger ones up dancing all night. They are an awesome band and a great bunch of lads who go out of their way to make your party/wedding one to remember. Also helped our bar bill as our guests didn't want to leave the dance floor!
Ed and Alison Murphy, Wedding, The Clochetons, Val d’isre, France
We'd seen The Black Powder Rockets many times during our years working in Val d'Isere so when we found out they were free to play on the weekend of our wedding we booked them straightaway. Dealing with the admin and logistics was really easy even remotely. On the day of the wedding they set up really quietly downstairs and then when it was time to go put on a fantastic show. We'd invited 70 guests from the UK to Val d'Isere so we wanted to make sure they had a great time. The Black Powder Rockets made the night for us, playing three great sets - loads of energy, great playing, excellent repertoire and going late into the night. They really responded to the crowd on the dance floor and played longer than we expected with every extra song being appreciated by the crowd who then asked for more. So many of our guests have said to us afterwards how much they loved the band and that it really made the night for them. These guests ranged from 19 to 65 showing how versatile the band are and what a great, broad ranging repertoire they have. We'd book them again tomorrow given half a chance! The best money we've spent in a long time.
Gemma & Simons Big Birthday Bash, Newmarket, Suffolk
The Black Powder Rockets are absolutely awesome! We had them at a big birthday party we held and they totally rocked it. They aren't one of those bands that just turn up, do what is required and then leave. They give it their all, give more than expected and totally work the crowd. Can't recommend them enough!
Katie & Graham's Wedding, Stoke Fleming Village Hall, Stoke Fleming, Devon
I'd seen The Black Powder Rockets twice before, during the 07/08 and the 08/09 ski seasons. There's nothing better than a really accomplished band who play to their audience and who's material list coincides exactly with my taste! When we needed to book some entertainment for our wedding, I knew straight away that I wanted a band rather than a disco - and fortunately my other half let me have my way. Once upon a time I guess people selected bands for weddings based on demo tapes or CDs, but with modern technology anyone can sound good on a recording so to me it was vital to have a band I'd seen before and liked. The Black Powder Rockets were worth every penny, and they combined their great performance with uber-professionalism. I actually had quite a lot at stake since I'd made the choice but others were paying, and it was great to see the looks on a few faces - people simply couldn't believe how good these guys were. Not only that, they did it without us allowing them time for a proper sound check because we arrived early for the reception!
Danny's 30th Birthday Bash, Stockport
After originally seeing The Black powder Rockets three times in a week whilst on a skiing holiday, I knew straight away they were the band I wanted for my 30th birthday bash. They are the best band I've ever seen playing all my favourite music but having a great variety from over the last 5 decades. They rocked the place and all 100 plus people were dancing all the way through the gig. I recommend them to anyone who wants to have the best party ever!
Andrew & Caroline Kernahans Wedding, The Cavendish Pavilion, Skipton, North Yorkshire
Both Andy and myself, and indeed everyone I spoke to thought the band were awesome! They definatley put their all into the performance and played some brilliant stuff. The guys were really friendly & were very helpful and accommodating of all we asked of them. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them. It was a great day followed by a great party thanks to The Black Powder Rockets!
Kirsty Grant, Challenger World Event Organiser, Ramla Bay Resort, Malta
The Black Powder Rockets were fantastic, very talented guys and they did a great job! By the time the guys finished their second set they had a full dance floor of jumping people (the classic scene at a Challenger party!). They also played on for an extra 15 mins at the end of the night which was great!
