THE BRAKES are a 4-piece band that specialise in weddings, parties and corporate events.

They are a full-time professional outfit equipped to cover any eventuality be that a gig in Tower Bridge, a vineyard in Burgundy, a hotel in Dubai, a roof party in Greenwich Village, NYC or a saturday night down 'the local'!

THE BRAKES have been together for four years and have collectively over 40 years professional experience between them (I'll leave you to work out the figures from the photos..).

The two singers Dave (guitarist) and Dave (keyboards) both brought a huge repertoire to the band and this continues to grow. A brief glance at their song-list and a listen to their demo will give you some idea of the range of music this band can play, but in short, the two guys are massive Rock'n'Roll and Beatles fans and (unless you request otherwise...) there'll always be plenty of this at a BRAKES show. This is not to say that they only cater for Beatles fans! Quite the reverse.

THE BRAKES keep everybody happy from the very young to the very old. The band's aim is to get everyone on that dance-floor and keep them there! A typical night would see THE BRAKES perform classics from The Beatles, Bryan Adams, The Jam, various Motown and Stax artists,The Kinks, Michael Jackson, Elvis, The Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, Madness, Buddy Holly, Johnny Cash, Kings of Leon, Biffy Clyro, Michael Buble, Bon Jovi, Queen, The Sex Pistols, Frank Sinatra, Booker T & the MG's, The Bee Gees, Stevie Wonder, Neil Diamond, Jerry Lee Lewis, Robbie Williams, Ray Charles, The Proclaimers et al...

They're always keen to have a pop at themselves performing ABBA hits when requested, all played with careful attention to detail, authentic sounds that are as near as possible to the original recordings and at a volume that won't pin you to the back wall.

The example tracks are a true representation of how the lads sound live. Many other bands record their demo tracks part by part and are never able to reproduce the sound live. THE BRAKES would rather give potential clients honest recordings and not mislead anyone.

This band know the score, they've been around, at least 2 of them are classically trained, into jazz and they all LOVE MUSIC!!!

THE BRAKES - IF A JUKEBOX COULD FORM A BAND, THIS'D BE IT!

THE BRAKES are a 4 piece band. However, the band regularly works as 3 piece with Dave (singer/guitarist) a bass player and drummer.

The 2 Daves also work as a duo and can even offer a solo piano or guitar performance with or without vocals.

Alternatively they can add members for example a female singer or brass section if req'd.

Any additions to their standard 4 piece line up will incur a further cost. Please ask...

THE BRAKES will make your event a night to remember. With so much experience of working with different clients the band can cater for all musical tastes from pop to rock to jazz.....

THE BRAKES are a professional outfit. They have public liability insurance and all of their equipment/lights etc are PAT tested and ensure that safety and quality music are equal priorities.

The band are compact and can be set within 30 minutes. They are discreet and considerate during speeches etc. A sound check is required in most instances but not at the cost of causing a nuissance to guests.

In addition to their evening sets, the boys can also offer a, 'Laid back' Wedding Breakfast jazz/acoustic/solo guitar or piano set at a small additional cost. An early set up fee may apply.

Song requests are welcome providing they are recieved within 4 weeks of your event. The band cannot guarantee that ALL songs are played but will endeavor to play as many as possible.

Songlists can be professionally compiled and mixed on request as an alternative to a DJ (please ask..). The band will play music during their breaks to ensure that the party keeps buzzing while they're not playing.

NB. Broken joints or slipped discs caused by excessive dancing are not the responsibility of THE BRAKES.

Set times can be decided by the client but The Brakes advise 2 x 60 mins or 3 x 40 minutes in order for the band to really get the party going and keep the dance floor full. These timings are tried and tested.
