Jane Whiteman-Turl, Birthday Party Event, Huntingdonshire
I have nothing but praise for the Buxton’s – they are lovely fellas and they took the whole thing very seriously and were consumate professionals. They added the songs requested and performed them really well. The birthday girls loved them and we have had huge compliments about how good they were for everyone who attended (literally). I am now trying to work out if I can incorporate them into my annual Christmas party!!! I can’t recommend them enough – all I can say is fabulous.
Jackie Stuart, John Lewis PLC Christmas Party, Peterborough
Absolutely Fantastic! The Buxtons never fail to bring excellent entertainment to every event! My Christmas party was fantastic through having this band. Thanks again.’
Sarah Dartford, Wedding, Surrey
These guys made our evening at our wedding so memorable and our guests still have not stopped talking about them. Fantastic song selection, and they even played 3 requests we asked for! The best wedding band we could have asked for.
Matt Jenkin, 21st Party , Cambridge
These guys have fantastic chemistry on stage, which adds to the overall experience when watching them. Their set list on the night was perfect for our taste. Thankyou!
Linda Harrison, Daughters 18th Party, Cambourne
Thanks you guys so much for playing at daughters 18th Party. You were absolutely incredible! Personally, we were blown away by how good you were and we lost count of the number of guests who said likewise. You really were the perfect band for the day. I hope you enjoyed playing for us as much as we enjoyed hearing you play (and dancing to it!). We will highly recommend you to any one else we know who is having a party.
Charlie and Rebecca Lawson, Wedding, Birmingham
The Buxtons were the perfect wedding band for our wedding. They were so accommodating and flexible to work around our needs. We were blown away with how much these guys get the audience involved which makes it even more fun. Thankyou and we will be recommending your band to all of our friends who loved it too!
Jay Harrison, RAF Senior Ranks Christmas Party, Brunssum Holland
I had heard great things about this band and we decided to have them play our party this year. Everyone was blown away. We had the same band for the past 4 years and were nervous to change. However these guys absolutely blew us away. Everyone has not stopped talking about it and we are defiantly having them back!
Matt & Sarah Price, Wedding, St Ives
The Buxtons played at our wedding this summer and we were so impressed that my husband hired them again for his work Xmas party in December! They were everything we were looking for and more - very professional and reliable, but most of all very entertaining! The dance floor was full all night long and we received fantastic feedback from our guests & the venue staff. Thanks to The Buxtons for a great night.
Helen & Alex Prestage, Huntingdon
All I can say is THANKYOU! You were the perfect wedding band. From the moment we booked, we felt confident and everything was organized without us having to worry about a thing from the band. Our wedding was beautiful and the evening entertainment was absolutely fantastic. They even played our first dance for us. Thankyou again.
John Warren, Summer Ball, March
We have had The Buxtons for 3 years running now for our annual golf balls. Everyone always wants them back. They provide such a high level of energy and performance which is unparalleled. Fantastic band, and my daughter also had them as her wedding band last year.

What time will the band arrive?
We will usually arrive and set-up from 6pm onwards. For Weddings, this means we're ready to set up as soon as the wedding breakfast and speeches are finished. With corporate and charity events, we will always set up and sound check before guests arrive. If you require the band to set up earlier in the day, let us know.
How long does it take the band to set up?
We take an hour to set up and sound check. Lifts or stairs may increase load in time.
How long will the band play for?
Our standard set times are 2 x 45 minutes which we find is the perfect amount of time to have a band playing. If you need longer sets, or shorter sets, just ask!
How long are the intervals?
We request intervals of at least 15 minutes but this can be longer to suit your requirements on the day
What time should the band start playing?
This is completely up to you and your schedule on the day. We find it's often best to start the band at around 9pm but this is purely a guide. We also find it's best to serve the buffet during the band breaks or before the band start. Again this is completely flexible.
Does the band provide music between and before sets?
Yes, we're happy to provide music via an iPod between sets. We have a fixed playlist on our ipod but If you have particular songs in mind, you're also welcome to create your own iPod playlists which can be played through the PA system.
Will the band require refreshments?
We request that the band is provided with soft drinks throughout our stay at the venue. We also request food for 2 members of the band. This doesn't have to be to the same standard as your guests meal, just something before we play to keep energy levels up. We often leave for the gig at mid-afternoon and won't arrive home unitl the early hours so some hot food is always highly appreciated.
Can I come and watch the band play live before I book?
If we are playing any public shows we can inform you of those. However we can not guarantee that we are playing public shows as we mainly specialize in private bookings.
Do you do requests?
Absolutely! We will endeavor to learn any requests. We have not had one yet that we couldn't learn!
Can you tailor your set to our musical taste?
Yes, we have a vast range of music we play ranging from jazz and swing, to mowtown, pop and rock. Every event is different, from weddings, parties to works parties and company events. We tailor our set to fit in with you.
Do you offer discounts on afternoon and evening sets?
Yes we do, we can offer a package for your event where we can play background music for your guests, as well as the main evening entertainment for a discounted price. If you have booked another wedding band for any part of your day, we will still be happy to be your afternoon or evening wedding/party entertainment.
Do you just play weddings?
Not at all, we call ourselves a wedding band, however we have played anywhere from Mars’ Christmas Party to the Army Bases in Brunssum, Holland. We can provide top class entertainment for any occasion.
Does the band provide their own PA system / Lighting equipment?
Yes, we are compeltely self-contained so you don't need to worry about a thing. We use a top class Mackie PA system with access to larger systems for events over 600 people.
Do we need to hire a raised stage?
No, a stage is always a great addition to a performance but is not a requirement.
How much space do you require?
We are very accomodating when it comes to space and can fit into just about any room or marquee. For weddings and events in larger rooms, we request at least 5 meters in width and 2 meters in depth.
What are the minimum power requirments?
We require at least 2 independent 13 amp sockets. If your marquee company has requested details, please advise that our PA system and lighting use approximatly 2.5kw and a single 16amp power supply is not sufficient.
Is the bands equipment PAT tested?
Yes, if the venue requires a certificate, please contact us and we'll forward you copy.
