Comedy Opera has been a huge hit with audiences in Australia and is now available to be booked in the UK. Written by the successful playwright & comedian, Glynn Nicholas, the set up starts during pre-dinner drinks, and the act weaves its magic throughout the crowd guaranteeing a hilarious night’s entertainment. Original comedic opera songs and all the opera classics your guests will long to hear, Comedy Opera provides the perfect blend of laughter plus the pure joy of spine-tingling singing.
During cocktails or entrée, two gorgeous women are mingling and dispensing raffle tickets to the guests. They politely chat, flirt and generally make themselves known to everyone at the event. Later, they take to the stage to announce the winner of the raffle. Distracted by the amount of gorgeous men in the audience, their cover is blown as they break into song which could only be described as delicious flirtation with the masses, combining witty lyrics with fabulous vocal prowess. This is followed with more classical or operatic arias chosen to suit the occasion.
PLUS, the hilarious piece de resistance, a performance of Bizet's masterpiece, Carmen, performed in its entirety (less all the boring bits) in 15 minutes. The hard-working accompanist provides a sumptuous underscore to the whole event – suitably attired and trying his best to control the Divas to little avail. Visually and musically stunning, Comedy Opera is the perfect choice for your formal event, conference or corporate gathering.

How long is the show?
The show runs for 45 minutes however can be tailored for each event.
Is there audience participation?
Yes! The divas single out many of the gorgeous men in the room and invite one lucky audience member onto stage for a very important role in the show.
What type of songs do you perform?
From popular operatic duets such as the Flower Duet from Lakme to ‘Time to Say goodbye’ the divas are classically trained opera singers and can perform opera, musical theatre and contemporary songs with ease.
Once your cover is blown, how do you make sure the guests are continually entertained?
The surprise element is only one small part of the show. From a hilarious raffle announcement to the main part of the show which is the opera ‘Carmen’ performed in 15 minutes, there is never a dull moment. All this as well as spine tingling singing makes Comedy Opera the most interesting and captivating opera act in the UK.
How can the show be tailored?
Songs can be selected to suit a theme or a special occasion and if required we can write songs specifically to suit a particular event. The script can also be personalised to include certain people as per the client’s request.
