Carrie and Lloyd’s Autumnal Berkshire Wedding with Anthem

August 2 2018

Carrie and Lloyd’s wedding day looks incredible. Surrounded by Autumn leaves in the peak of October, they chose the stunning location of Wasing Park in Berkshire. Check out how they partied the night away with wedding band Anthem and some insight into how their day came together.

What was your best single moment of the whole day?

The ceremony itself was so special and we both agreed that this was our best moment. However, we also had the best time at our reception! We enjoyed just being able to relax, dance and of course drink with our family and friends.

Why did you pick your venue?

We fell in love with Wasing Park from the moment we saw it, we knew we wanted a barn style venue and a church wedding, it had it all! We also loved the grounds and knowing we were having an October wedding we really wanted to be surrounded by trees.

Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?

We were going for a rustic theme, it was quite relaxed and we just wanted to softly enhance the venue which was already amazing. We went for soft pastel colours in the flowers and incorporated lace, creams and browns into the stationary. We did a lot of it ourselves including making out seating plan from scratch which we were quite proud of.

How did you hear about the act?

Lloyd’s friends had them at their wedding and we loved how they got everyone on the dance floor and played a brilliant selection of music.

What did they bring to your day?

Fun! A lot of our guests have commented on how brilliant Anthem were, there was not one person off the dancefloor, even my 80 year old grandad was up and dancing! The atmosphere was amazing and it was so special to look around and see all of our family and friends dancing and brought together on our day. They also introduced our family and friends to our dancing talents by staging a dance off between bride and groom!!

Did you have a first dance song and what was it?

We had Ed Sheeran, Perfect….and it was! There were a few songs on our list but the lyrics in this song were PERFECT so it had to be.

Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding? (online, blogs, magazines etc – Did any in particular stand out and why?)

I have always had a Pinterest full of ideas and drew inspiration from there as well as ideas from family and friends. Our table names were places in Brighton where Lloyd is from and we first met, this was an idea from one of my closest friends. When it came to looking for suppliers it was important to go with people we could 100% trust, so we found our suppliers through our venue at an open day. We went for them because they knew the venue inside out and how to make the most of it. Our cake was made by a friend and my close friend took our evening pictures.

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?

Brilliant, Warble remained in contact throughout the planning stages and answered all my (thousands) of emails so quickly, especially Jodie who was so patient. They were so supportive and helpful. Anthem themselves were just lovely on the day and really felt like a part of our wedding.

Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Enjoy every single moment and not just of the day, enjoy the whole lead up and the big milestones you hit in that time. Finding the dress, the suits, deciding on the flowers and the bridesmaids dresses. These are all so important and special and moments you will treasure along with the big day. Relax and everything you plan does fall into place.

Looking back is there anything you would change?

The day could not have gone better, it ran so smoothly and we had everyone there we could want. We can honestly say there was nothing we would have changed.

Name your favourite suppliers from the day: (as many as you like)

I know this may sound like a cliché but it had to be all of them, without every single one of them our day would not have been as perfect as it was. From the creation of my dress, to my floral visions being brought to life, the photographers supporting us throughout the day and creating some of the most beautiful images we can treasure for life, to Anthem creating the most insane party in the evening. Everyone was amazing and we can’t thank them enough.
