Jenny and Michael booked We Have You Covered as their evening wedding band at Hassop Hall in the Peak District and have kindly shared their highlights along with great planning tips and advice for other couples.
What was your best single moment of the whole day?
The whole day was perfect but the best moment had to be walking down the aisle and saying our vows. All the preparations had been worth it and we were finally husband and wife.
Why did you pick your venue?
We drove past Hassop Hall on a walk in the Peak District before we were engaged and knew that was the place for us. It has the most beautiful surrounding countryside with grand buildings but with a friendly feel to it. The added bonus of rooms on site meant family could stay with us after the wedding.
Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?
We wanted it to be quite classic and traditional. The venue with the beautiful Peak District countryside views did not need much to make it perfect, just quite a few candles everywhere.
How did you hear about the act?
We spent a while searching the internet and found the Warble website really easy to use. We listened to a few bands on the website but We Have You Covered played all the songs we had on our wish list and had a great look.
What did they bring to your day?
The band kept the dance floor alive all night and we barely even made it to the bar because the music was so good. They responded to what the guests liked and everyone kept telling us how much they loved the band. They also helped me look for my iPad when I had misplaced it the day after.
Did you have a first dance song and what was it?
Our first dance was to Your Song. The band rang us a few weeks before to check what first dance song we wanted and did the most beautiful version of it on the day.
Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding?
We tried to use suppliers who had been to our venue before. We went to a few wedding fairs and asked for suggestions from friends as well as the venue itself.
What did you think of the service provided by Warble?
Brilliant service, very easy to use website and sent us regular emails to remind us of any things we needed to do as it’s easy to forget when the day gets near.
Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Get the big things done early on to give you time to concentrate on the small things like decorations. Try to enjoy the process and not get too stressed. Take advice from family and friends, they will enjoy seeing their input into the day when it comes.
Looking back is there anything you would change?
We wouldn’t change a thing, the whole day was perfect and even the sun stayed out which had been our biggest worry.
