Tracey and Terry’s Tea Themed Vow Renewal With The Mixtape

Bride and Groom

Tracey and Terry booked The Mixtape as their evening band for their ‘Tea’ themed vow renewal at Highley Manor in Sussex and have kindly shared their highlights along with great planning tips and advice for other couples.

What was your best single moment of the whole day?

My husband and I renewed our wedding vows after 20 years of marriage.  Having originally got married abroad and not doing the ‘church thing’ first time round, it was very special to be able to renew our vows at a church before a vicar in front of our family and friends.

Bride and Groom Ceremony

Why did you pick your venue?

We already knew of the venue, and it was the one place I wanted our reception.  The manor house is very secluded, with a very warm homely feel to it.

Wedding Venue

Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?

Well, 20 years of marriage is ‘China’, so we decided to go with the theme of ‘Tea’.

Wedding Decor

How did you hear about the act?

I had done extensive research, not just through going to Wedding Fairs, but also researching online.  Warble Entertainment give you the opportunity to listen to each act and we knew roughly what we wanted and how much to spend.  So, Warble gave us the freedom to choose the act we wanted.

The Mixtape Wedding Band

What did they bring to your day?

Quite a lot.  The boys were very professional.  To be honest, I didn’t realise they had arrived, they were that discreet.  They done two sets and had everyone up on the dance floor.  We had so many wonderful comments about them.  Even one of our guests wanted to book them for their wedding, but unfortunately it was going to be ‘Up North’, which was too far for the boys.

The boys even allowed by husband to play the drums to “Brown Eyed Girl” by Van Morrison.

Wedding Dance Floor

Did you have a first dance song and what was it?

We did, it was “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You” by Van Morrison.  This was not played by the band but was provided by them as we wanted Van Morrison’s own version because it was the song to our first dance on our original wedding day.

Bride and Groom First Dance

Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding?

Bridal magazines, Wedding Fairs and online search engines (i.e. Google).

Wedding Cake

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?

Warble provided us with comfort in knowing exactly what we were getting with the band we had hired.  There were no hidden extras.  Exchange of email correspondence and telephone conversations made me feel at ease that everything was running smoothly.

Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Although this was our vow renewal, it was all new to us.  I would say, whatever you want to have on your Wedding Day, always compare companies/suppliers to try and get the best deal for you.  There are plenty out there with many deals to offer.  We planned this over two years, and even then, it was like a full-time hobby for me.

Looking back is there anything you would change?
