How Long Do Jazz Bands Play For?

Jazz Bands normally deliver two hours of live entertainment split into either 2x 60-minute or 3x 40-minute sets but can sometimes play for longer if needed for a small fee.

How Much Does It Cost To Hire A Jazz and Swing Band?

Jazz bands range from duos all the way up to huge swing bands with 12+ members so the price of hiring one ranges wildly. For a duo you can expect to pay around £900 and for full bands expect to pay around £2000. When hiring a jazz band, if you can find one that is based close to your venue, this is a great way of saving on the price of transportation.

Do I Need To Hire A PA?

There's no need to source a PA when you hire one of our jazz bands! They'll bring all their own PAT tested equipment with them if they need to be amplified. Larger bands will bring their own lighting too.

How Long Is The Sound Check For A Jazz Band?

Full bands will usually take around 90 minutes to compete a discreet sound check but duos and trios will only need around half an hour. Your venue should know how to usher guests away from the dance floor at this time.

What Happens While The Band Is Offstage?

Most bands will provide background music played through their PA system while they are taking a well-earned break. Roaming-style bands with no PA might not be able to offer this service so make sure to check their profile or ask your adviser before booking.

Can Jazz Bands Perform In Venues With A Sound Limiter?

Most jazz bands should easily be able to perform at venues with sound limiters in place. For larger bands it's important to check with your adviser, as they may beed to use an electric drum kit or a different type of drum stick to comply with regulations.

How Far In Advance Should I Hire A Jazz Band?

Jazz bands usually get booked around a year in advance so it's a great idea to get your booking in early, especially if you're booking for a Saturday wedding in summer or a Christmas event!
