Northern Violin is a violinist/electric violinist based in Leeds, UK.
She is extremely versatile and is able to provide a diverse mix of classical, pop, rock and jazz music. She is available for events internationally including weddings, corporate events, parties, club nights and session work.
Having studied her undergraduate degree in classical violin at Leeds College of Music she also stayed on to study for her Masters after being awarded a fully funded scholarship from the college. Alongside her studies. She has entertained audiences across the UK, regularly performing with groups STORM and the Adelia String Quartet.
Most recently Lauren performed at the Royal Festival Hall in London alongside Marc Almond, lead singer of the 80s hit "Tainted Love". In the past she has also performed at the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall and a variety of theatre’s across France and Belgium.
Although classically trained, she takes joy in performing covers of contemporary pop songs and performing upbeat crossovers of traditional classical pieces.
Northern Violin performs on a Ted Brewer clear Vivo electric violin complete with LED lighting and also her newly made 2016 acoustic violin by luthier Roderick Ward.
Although based in Leeds, Northern Violin is available as violinist for weddings and other events worldwide.
