The Faradays put the funk into folk!
With an exquisite blend of guitar, violin, mandolin and percussion interweaved with 3 part harmony, this three-piece folk-pop family band redefine the songs you know and love.
Equally at home at both festivals and weddings - and regular visitors to both - The Faradays will entertain all age groups on all occasions, be it a birthday party or a corporate event.
If you're looking for something different, fun and wonderful... you've found it!
The Faradays are a very happy musical accident...
Chris, lead singer and guitarist, was practising his songs at home and his step-dad Ian couldn't resist joining in with his mandolin and a few close harmonies. It didn't take much to convince his classically trained sister Rachael to join in with her violin and a third vocal and suddenly the neighbours were being treated to renditions of some much loved modern classics in The Faraday's own unique style!
Add a little percussion, mix in a fair dollop of practise and then tour the country for a few years perfecting your art and you're left with the polished and professional but above all fun performance that The Faradays provide today.
The advantage is that this tight-knit family band love what they do, and the fun they're having is entirely infectious!

The perfect band for our barn wedding! Exceeded all expectations, would have no hesitation recommending.
What an absolute blast The Faradays were at our wedding! Such a great group of people that you are more than happy to have at such a special day. The music suited our rustic barn wedding perfectly and everyone couldn't help but get up on the dance floor. I can't wait for another event so that we can book them again, we loved every second!
Group were Amazing - Made The Night! Professional, well organised and they created a great atmosphere which all the guests enjoyed.
The band were amazing - we couldn't have asked for a better night. We also loved the first dance song. Such lovely people, we couldn't be happier.
Great band, professional set up, very tight with excellent stage dynamic. Would defo recommend.
You were the perfect, unique match for our wedding reception - your sound was so full and fresh and it was a delight to see three great musicians having such a good time. You should entertain in big barns more often! Your tunes brought so many people to the dance floor who have since been waxing lyrical about your performance. We'd recommend you to anyone - thank you so much.
The band played brilliantly for us on 14th July at our first vintage fashion show. They played a mix of older songs and current with their own distinctive style which worked well and suited the occasion perfectly. The band also played throughout the catwalk event which added to the atmosphere and gave the whole show a distinctive feel. They were accommodating and very flexible to our needs so thank you so much for that! I would recommend The Faradays to anyone who needs a professional, polished, versatile band that adds a real atmosphere to any occasion.
I'm not sure I like this type of music. Will I enjoy it?
We've lost count of the times we've been approached after gigs by people saying a very similar thing; "I didn't think I'd like it, but I did!" Why? We think it's because we take comfortably familiar and well-loved tunes - from The Beatles to the Killers, from Madness to Ed Sheeran - and make them into our own unique arrangements. You get something very different at the same time as getting something very well known!
How much space do you need?
Not much, just all you can give! We can squeeze into a corner if you need us to, but we're performers and so we like to have plenty of room to perform!
Can you learn songs?
Yes, although we would ask for an additional charge due to the time taken to learn the song. We would also be happy to do this only where it suits our style of music.
How long do you need to set up?
An hour is plenty for us to set up and sound check. We prefer to get in early where possible so that we're not disturbing the event :)
What experience have The Faradays got for my event?
We've toured the country on the festival circuit, and we've done it again on the wedding circuit (we're masters at announcing "The buffet is open!"). Our third tour has been for corporate events, where we've listened to many a fascinating after dinner speech before waking everyone up again with Mr Brightside... Memorable venues include a wide variety of big festival stages, posh hotel ballrooms all over Britain, Birmingham Symphony Hall, and our lounge! :)
