The Sweet Manhattans are a stylish and classy band, taking inspiration from the Jazz greats, both of yesterday and today. Equally at home providing soothing background music or holding centre stage as the main act, this group of experienced pros combines a heady mix of professionalism, talent and genuine love for all things Jazz.
Taking inspiration from the great American Song Book, while also being comfortable with more modern day classics, their constantly expanding setlist is flexible enough to cover all moods and tastes.
The Sweet Manhattans have a default line up of Vocals, Trumpet, Keys, Bass and Drums, but are highly flexible and can adjust their set up to suit your needs. The line up starts as a duo and goes all the way up to a seven piece band, including full brass section. In addition to this they are also able to provide a fully themed 50’s/60’s Showband at discount rates.
The Sweet Manhattans come with their own sound engineer, state-of-the-art digital PA and lighting system and are fully PAT-tested and insured. They will also happily provide background music between sets to ensure your event flows as seamlessly as possible.

We give you a bespoke price based on the exact location of your event. The pricing below is based on a central location for your area so you have an idea of what your price will be. The exact price will be given in the booking process after you’ve provided the location details.
What is a typical set length?
Performances are usually made up of either one 1 hour set or two sets of 45 minutes, although we are happy to vary this to meet your requirements if required.
Are you able to offer extended performances / extra sets?
Of course! Please enquire for prices.
What is the latest time you can play to?
Our quotes are based on playing up to Midnight. If you would like us to continue later than that, please discuss it with us at the time of booking additional ‘late finish’ charge may be applicable.
Do you take requests?
Given sufficient notice and dependant on song required we are happy to take requests. This may invoke an additional charge, dependent on the style of music requested, the amount of notice given and work required to learn.
Can you play our first dance for us?
As the first dance is arguably the most important song of the evening, we will only play a song not on our list if it is within our instrumentation and style. If, for any reason, we can’t perform the song live, we will arrange for the original version to be played over our sound system at the appropriate time.
How much time do you require to set up?
We require 1.5 hours to set-up and sound check, although we usually like to arrive as early as possible to give ourselves plenty of time.
How much stage space do you require?
This will depend on the line up you've booked but to give you a rough idea, our standard 5 piece require a minimum area of approx 10ft (3m) wide by 10ft (3m) deep for the band to assemble in.
How many power sockets do you require?
We require a minimum of 3 power sockets, plus an additional power socket if you wish us to provide band lighting.
Parking?
We require parking space for 4 cars, ideally as near as possible to where you wish us load / unload our equipment. If there are any are access issues to the venue, please let us know well in advance.
Can you provide music when you are not on stage?
Yes, we will happily play an extensive music selection through our PA before in between and after our sets at no extra charge.
Can you play my music through your PA?
Yes. we are happy to play any music provided by a client on an iPod etc, as long as the device has a standard 3.5mm headphone socket/line out. Just pass your music player to the sound engineer at the start of the evening. We are also happy to mix individual song requests into our pre-recorded selection, although for this prior notice would obviously be advised.
Do you charge extra for sound and lighting equipment?
All PA and lighting equipment is included in the quoted price.
Some of our guests are musicians. Can they play with you on a few songs?
Unfortunately, due to insurance purposes, we are unable to allow guest musicians to play with us, even if they provide their own equipment.
