Lynsey and Darren booked The Kickstarts as their evening wedding band for their Cadburys themed wedding at The Quay and have kindly shared their highlights along with great planning tips and advice for other couples.
What was your best single moment of the whole day?
Seeing my husband’s face when I walked into the room ohhh and one more … hearing my mother-in-law tell me how happy I looked.
Why did you pick your venue?
I had been to The Quay on a few courses with work, but never concentrated as I was just in awe of the setting and would just stare out at the castle. A wedding fayre was organised there and when I saw it advertised I just knew instantly.
Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?
We wanted the silver and Cadburys purple colour scheme as I thought it would fit in nicely with the time of year. Most importantly we didn’t care how much entertainment or extra added cost as we just wanted a wedding where everyone enjoyed themselves and talk about it still.
How did you hear about the act?
By chance! We Googled wedding bands and found them. Listened to a few clips and decided to book and take the risk! That risk turned out to be the best.
What did they bring to your day?
EVERYTHING! Fun, laughter, dancing, head stands, cartwheels, stumbles and falls (not the band but the dancers) A memory that will stick is of the drummer who giggled and carried on regardless of a guest performing head stands right in front of him! Classic!
Did you have a first dance song and what was it?
Michael Buble- Close Your Eyes.

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?
Absolutely outstanding. Nothing at all to fault! The communication between Warble and myself was excellent and Nicola always put my mind at ease. They fully understand your feelings when booking a band you’ve never heard before and reassure you constantly.
Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t spend too much time posing for photographs…. the ones the photographer catches are the best! The truest smiles and fits of giggles!
Looking back is there anything you would change?
Not a single thing!
