A Country Chic Wedding – Elle and Chris’ Big Day with Soulfire

Bride and Groom

Elle and Chris booked Soulfire as their evening wedding band for their country chic themed wedding at Millbridge Court and have kindly shared their highlights along with great planning tips and advice for other couples.

What was your best single moment of the whole day?

It’s hard to pick a favourite as I loved every moment of our wedding, for us it was the most perfect day. My favourite moment was walking down the aisle with my dad towards Chris.

Wedding Ceremony

Why did you pick your venue?

I loved the feel of Millbridge Court it felt homely but had real class as well. It was also a blank canvas, so we could put our own personality on to it. Part of the reason we went for the venue was because of the caterer ‘Kalms Kitchen’ they let us have total freedom to create our own menu, we had American dinner as my husband is crazy for burgers! It was different, and everyone loved it.

Wedding Venue

Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?

The theme was autumn country chic themed with lots of reds, golds and Navy’s.

Wedding Party

How did you hear about the act?

I had looked through a lot of acts and not found the right fit. Soulfire seemed to have real soul but were young so brought a modern twist to it.

Wedding Band

What did they bring to your day?

Everyone loved them, they were fabulous both during their set and in between. I requested a lot of songs and they either sang them or put them in the iPod section in between sets.

Dance Floor

Did you have a first dance song and what was it?

We had Ellie Goulding – Army, which the band learnt and sang amazingly even though it was a girl’s song.

First Dance

Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding?

Pinterest!!! It gave me so many amazing ideas, I pinned everything for my wedding!

Wedding Decor

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?

The service was great. I was so nervous about the band as I hadn’t met them prior. Going through an agency made me a lot calmer and stopped me stressing out.

Bride Dancing

Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Take time picking your vendor and chose a venue that set up, you don’t need to be preparing the wedding room on the day! Everything will be ok on the day! Don’t sweat the little things as it all goes so quickly that you will regret getting so worried on the build-up. Enjoy it, it will be the best day of your life.

Also, we had Rhubarb and ginger gin in Prosecco, people still talk about the drink, so I would advise having a token drink to add more personality.

Wedding Ceremony

Looking back is there anything you would change?

No, I really wouldn’t I loved it all!

Bride and Groom

Name your favourite suppliers from the day:

Obviously Soulfire. They made the event in the evening!!

I found my amazing photographers ‘The Springle’s’ through Pinterest, their style is very documentary which worked so well for us as they blended into the background and go so many natural shots.

I found my hair Jodie Adamson and makeup artist Catherine Taylor through Pinterest they are both amazing and I highly recommend.
