We had the opportunity to catch up with the lovely Katy and Nick for their words from their intimate wedding at Lainston House in Hampshire. The couple have been kind enough to share their advice for couples planning their own special day.
And if that isn’t enough to get you avid wedding planners out there excited, we have managed to secure an exclusive interview with The Singing Waiters: Live! That’s right… You guys will get the opportunity to read the fantastic act’s advice for couples looking at live entertainment for a smaller wedding. So without further ado, let’s get started.
What wedding entertainment had you planned for your guests?
We booked The Singing Waiters: Live.
What did The Singing Waiters: Live bring to your day?
They were absolutely brilliant! We couldn’t stop smiling/laughing throughout their whole performance. So glad we booked them, our guests loved them and really brought so much energy.
Were the entertainers what you expected?
Even better! They did such a lovely variety of songs that everyone knew and could sing along to. They were all very talented musicians/singers.
Why did you pick your venue?
It’s beautiful. We wanted a venue where we could have the ceremony, reception and where people could stay all in the same place. We were also looking for a barn style venue and Lainston just had everything we could ask for.
How did you feel on your wedding day?
Excited! We were so lucky to have great weather, and even though we had some restrictions due to covid everything worked out as best it possibly could. The staff at the venue were fantastic.
What did you think of the service provided by Warble?
Great, quick responses and very accommodating with all our date changes!

What was it like to Perform at a smaller wedding?
We have been performing at a number of intimate weddings throughout the pandemic (when guidelines have allowed it!) We play our music live and frequently work as an acoustic act so performing to a reduced audience means we are uniquely suitable for events of 30 guests or less.
Did you have to make any changes to your regular performance to fit the setting?
We understand how challenging it has been for couples planning a wedding during the pandemic. As such we try our best to offer the same high energy performance as we always have whilst being mindful of keeping both guests and performers safe. We are very lucky that we are able to perform the act in largely the same way – even under current restrictions.
Your advice for couples looking to book live entertainment for a smaller wedding?
We have been delighted to find that couples have continued to have live entertainment since guidelines have allowed it. Even with smaller weddings – you want your guests to have a good time and for your wedding to be memorable. There are some fantastic live music options available for couples looking to make their day stand out from the rest!
Name your favourite suppliers from the day
Everyone! Each and every one of our suppliers was fantastic and went above and beyond! But the singing waiters definitely will be remembered by everyone.
Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?
We originally had 92 guests but due to covid we were only allowed 30! Probably a controversial comment but I think having just 30 of our closest friends and family was the best thing to come from all the restrictions. Less is more, don’t be pressured into inviting everyone and anyone. We were able to enjoy the day with each and every person that attended and had the best day!
