Laura & Guy’s Wick Farm Wedding With The Radio Kings

Bride and Groom

Laura and Guy booked Radio Kings as their evening wedding band at their rustic, country wedding at Wick Farm and have kindly shared their highlights along with great planning tips and advice for other couples.

What was your best single moment of the whole day?

Laura – It is so hard to pick just one moment that was my favourite.  There are just too many wonderful moments, but there was something very special about seeing Guy at the end of the aisle waiting for me.  My smile couldn’t have been bigger!

Guy – My best moment was when the registrar announced that we were husband and wife!  It was a mixture of excitement and relief!  All our plans had come together.

Why did you pick your venue?

We chose Wick Farm, Bath, because it was just perfect for us.  We loved the relaxed feel and the beautiful surroundings.  It was also great because it was just down the road from where we live, so that made it even more special.

Did you have a specific style or theme for your big day?

Since our venue was a barn, we had a rustic, country theme.  There were lots of hessian, lace and wild flowers.  There wasn’t a particular colour theme, but a mixtures of muted tones.  We loved making and finding lots of bits and bobs which perfectly fitted our theme!

How did you hear about the act?

We heard about the Radio Kings through the Warble Entertainment website.  The sample tracks on the website really helped us find the right band for us.  Also, they looked super smiley in their photo, so that won us over!

What did they bring to your day?

Booking the Radio Kings was one of the best decisions we made.  Everyone was up dancing and enjoying themselves.  They couldn’t have been better.  They played a wide range of music, something for everybody.

Did you have a first dance song and what was it?

Our first dance was ‘Shut up and Dance with Me’ and we loved it!  We had practised a routine for our dance and the Radio Kings played it perfectly for us.  Since our routine, and song choice, was a surprise for our guests, it is something they will never forget.  It was the Mother of the Groom’s highlight of the day.

Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding?

We became completely obsessed with Pinterest, finding lots of lovely creative ideas.  We visited many local wedding fairs, which enabled us to find local suppliers, who were bespoke and just what we were looking for.

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?

Warble provided an excellent service.  Not only were they good value for money, they helped us to find our dream wedding band, taking all of the stress away.  We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to our friends and family.

Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?

Enjoy every minute of it and it is never too early to start planning and booking in suppliers.  It is surprising how much there is to do and how quickly suppliers get booked up.  Be organised and write lots of lists!

Looking back is there anything you would change?

There is genuinely nothing that we would change about our day.  Maybe the weather could have been better, however, they do say rain on your wedding day brings you good luck!  It was the best day of our lives.
