Jack & Laura married in the luxurious country house hotel, Armthwaite Hall, one of the Lake District’s most popular venues. They timed it perfectly by holding their memorable day over May’s bank holiday weekend and the glowing photography from Gillian Devine will leave you feeling all warm and jolly. The couple chose Warble Entertainment’s ‘Nick Sings‘ to provide them with an atmosphere to match and we couldn’t agree more with their choice.
Tell us a bit about yourselves
My name is Jack, I am 28 and work in Financial Services and Laura is 26 and is a Lawyer. We both met at Uni in Manchester, I worked behind the bar at Laura’s Halls-of-Residence and with months of perseverance, charm and endless free drinks Laura finally succumbed. I asked Laura to marry me on the fifth anniversary of having started going out in Edinburgh, after that, there was almost no plan whatsoever! We knew we wanted to have it exactly two years after the day I proposed, other than that it was a blank canvas.
How Did Warble Help?
I am a keen (but very amateur) guitarist and singer so we were determined to get a Singer/Guitarist to play for an hour or two in-between the meal and the evening disco. We picked Warble as the site was easy to navigate and had a lot of the information we needed up-front. Having checked through the list at Warble we picked ‘Nick Sings’. Nick’s repertoire was modern enough to have most of our favourite songs on there but varied enough to chuck in a few oldies for the family. It was great to have the audio and visual samples and the reviews of previous clients to make our decision even easier.
Nick was absolutely fantastic and the highlight of our day. It helped that the sun was out, the entire wedding party was on the decking, and all with drinks in hand. As Nick is genuinely a nice bloke, he built a rapport with the crowd quickly and even let me massacre a couple of songs with him. We only wish we’d booked him for longer…
