Groove Progression pride themselves on their great variety & energetic performances featuring covers from the Beatles to Bruno Mars. Performances which build over the course of the evening - matching the flow of your event.
Rated five stars for customer service by previous clients!
Groove Progression's variety is one of their strengths - the band includes a 4 piece rhythm section, 2 piece horn section and 7 lead singers (plus occasional harmonica).
When you book them you'll get 3 x one hour sets as standard (instead of the usual 2 hours), and on top of that they don't believe in charging extra so that you can get the basics you require - standard fees include:

We give you a bespoke price based on the exact location of your event. The pricing below is based on a central location for your area so you have an idea of what your price will be. The exact price will be given in the booking process after you’ve provided the location details.
Can I hear you before I book?
Yes - we have demos and videos available here. Additionally we occasionally play public gigs around London and if you get in touch we will let you know when the next one is.
What time will you arrive & how long do you need to set up / soundcheck?
We will discuss the ideal arrival time with you as it will depend on your event. As mentioned above we will not charge you extra if you need us to arrive significantly earlier than our set start time - we don't want to make you choose between convenience and cost. Once we arrive, typically we will need 60-90 minutes to load in and set up. If you have a short room turnaround we have in the past cut this time down by setting up the gear elsewhere (out of the way) and then rapidly moving it into the actual venue.
How long do you play for?
We will typically play 3x1 hour sets of live music, with breaks in between. This is flexible however - we don't just "turn up and play" - we will plan our sets around your precise needs for a tailored live music solution.
Can you provide live background music for a dinner / reception?
Yes - As well as being a full on party band which will get your guests on the dance floor we are also capable of providing more subtle background music for a reception/dinner - both vocal and/or instrumental. We regularly provide this as an additional service on top of the usual set (e.g. during the reception or dinner at a wedding before the main party starts), but we have also done gigs where this was our sole purpose - it's whatever you need!
Do you do requests?
Absolutely. We make the effort to tailor our set to your needs, so if you have any specific requests for songs/artists please let us know. You'll find a list of our current repertoire here but don't be put off if your favourites aren't on there - just get in touch!
Can you learn our first dance?
Yes - we will learn your first dance, and there is no extra fee for this.
Can you provide music before/after/between sets?
Yes we can - we can plug any iPod/Laptop/Tablet into our PA system and we use this to keep the music going while we aren't playing. We can manage this for you - creating a playlist that fits with the event. Alternatively you can plug in one of your own devices, or share a spotify playlist with us. We do not charge extra for this service - though depending on the particular location/timings there may be an additional cost to keep the PA system running after the live music has finished.
My venue is asking that bands have Public Liability Insurance and / or PAT certificates - do you have these?
Yes - all of our gear is PAT Tested, and we have public liability insurance for the whole band. Certificates available on request.
Do you have disco lights?
We have some basic floor lights to light up the band - but we do not currently own a set of disco lights. We can however hire & manage the lighting on your behalf (at cost + a small admin fee). As we have done this in the past for previous clients we can quickly provide several different options for lighting packages to suit your budget or event - saving you from spending time searching for the right lights and then worrying about an extra supplier on the day.
Do you need us to provide anything?
All we need from you / the venue is a power supply, space to set up, food / soft drinks and ideally some sort of green room to change and store our gear.
How much space do you need?
It depends on the size of the band. As a guide, assuming the standard line up of 7, the smallest actual stage we have used (which we measured) was 12'x8'. Larger is preferable (20'x10' is about ideal), but we will work within the space you have available. We've squeezed into some tight corners in our time! If there isn't a stage then we will endeavour to fit as neatly into the space as we can.
