Classic Strings were a wonderful addition to our wedding day, a highlight for us is that they allowed our friend and bridesmaid to sing with them during our ceremony, after just one rehearsal in the morning. They sounded absolutely incredible; testament to truly talented musicians. They also played outside for our drinks reception, without request, as the weather was amazing on the day, thank you. We would highly recommend this very talented and professional string quartet.

The quartet were everything that we had planned and more. All of our students, parents and invited guests were delighted with the repertoire and the performance. Outstanding.

Classic Strings were fantastic! They played beautiful music as the bride arrived at the wedding and throughout our signing of the register. They really helped to add to the atmosphere of our wedding day and many guests have commented about how fantastic they were during the drinks reception. They played a really good mixture of classical and modern pieces excellently and I would highly recommend them!

We would just like to say such a HUGE thank you to Rachel and the ladies of Classic Strings! They were absolutely fantastic. Rachel's contact with me prior to our wedding was helpful and very efficient, she understood perfectly what we wanted and the (very!) precise timings we needed for our Church entrance. Our guests absolutely loved them, loved the choice of tracks in the church and enjoyed playing 'name that tune' at our drinks reception afterwards. I can't wait to see our wedding video so I get to hear them again. THANK YOU SO MUCH Classic Strings for helping to make our day perfect!! I can't recommend you highly enough xx

Absolutely first-class. Classic Strings arrived well ahead of the intended start time. They were very nice people, all well presented and very polite. Their music was excellent and much appreciated by all at the event. They made a great birthday celebration even better. I would strongly recommend them and will be more than happy to ask them back to the next event I have to arrange.

Matt and I just wanted to drop you a note to say how amazing the guys were on Saturday, all of our guests commented on the wonderful music and the ceremony pieces in particular were just stunning and exactly what I had dreamt of! I also wanted to say a big thank you to you for all your help choosing the pieces and organising the music. It was great to have Leo's strings be part of our special day.

Classic Strings were amazing! We had so much excellent feedback about them from the guests at our wedding. but perhaps the most significant was our photographer who said they were the best he had ever heard, that coming from a professional who has attended hundreds of weddings and must have heard many different quartets was a great compliment. We had a wonderful wedding and Classic Strings helped to make it truly special. They invited us to see them at a performance a few weeks before the wedding so we could meet them and discuss our choice of music which was really helpful, they were friendly, professional and above all excellent musicians.

We would just like to say a massive thank you to Classic Strings for such an amazing performance at our Wedding. The music was beautiful and received many, many compliments from our guests. They loved guessing the songs as they heard them! Classic Strings really set a lovely atmosphere for our wedding, they played on arrival at our drinks reception and carried on playing throughout our wedding breakfast with the more upbeat songs. Rachel was such a pleasure to deal with on the build up to our special day. She was extremely professional, replied to emails straight away and was very helpful and accommodating. The Quartet were very punctual, professional and very smiley on the day. We only wish we had another event coming up that we could book them again for! Lovely music and lovely people.

    FAQs

    Do you play for weddings?
Yes, we are extremely experienced at playing for weddings and have performed at hundreds!

How far in advance do I need to book you?
The sooner the better. Our bookings work on a first come first served basis and we are currently taking bookings up to 2 years in advance.

How much do you charge for over time?
We will always try and be as flexible and accomodating as possible and can offer you an extra 15 minutes of free music if events run late. If the delay is any longer than this, or you decide that you would like us to stay a little longer, we would need additional 'over-time' payment. This works out as £10 per player per 15 minutes.

    How far do you travel?
We have groups based in Manchester, Birmingham & London and we're happy to travel up to around 100 miles from each. Every case is different though so get in touch :-)

Are you happy to play outside?
Yes and no... Our instruments are very precious and shouldn’t be placed in direct sunlight. We would need a shaded area or small shelter (around 3m x 3m). In the event of rain we regret we cannot play outside even if shelter is provided. It may be useful to ask your venue if they have any large umbrellas or a gazebo.

Do you play as a Trio or Duo too?
Classic Strings are available to hire as a Quartet, Trio, Duo or even larger ensemble if that is what your event requires.

Do we need to provide anything for you?
Armless chairs, good light and refreshments if playing for more than 1.5 hours.

I'm hosting a big event - are you happy to play with microphones/can you advise me?
Yes but we don't own any of the equipment required. We work with a fantastic company who have the best sound engineers we've ever come across so if you're looking into hiring anyone, we can help. They have all the equipment you will need and know just what to do when it comes to miking up strings. (We are, however, also happy to use any other companies you have in mind..)

How often do you need to take breaks?
We will need a short break of 5 or 10 minutes for every hour of playing. We can be flexible though and are willing to negotiate our breaks around your timetable.

What if you are delayed / cannot get to us on the day?
In the event of severe weather conditions it may sometimes not be safe for us to travel. We will always look at every possible option to get us to you and will give you as much notice as we can if we are at all concerned. Under these circumstances should we have to cancel the booking you would not have to pay any of the agreed fee. This has never happened before though!

    Do you have liability insurance?
Yes. We have public liability insurance with cover up to £10 million.
