We recently had The Shortwaves for our wedding and they were amazing!! Had everyone on the dance floor all night and we were all begging for more when it had ended. Ready to rock out? Meet The Shortwaves - an outstanding 3-piece band who are guaranteed to unleash the party animal in your guests with their epic renditions of pop, rock and indie anthems!

The Shortwaves have a huge back catalogue of absolute bangers to draw from and they’re experts at curating the perfect setlist to raise the roof at your celebration. They put their own rousing twist on everything from Queen to Taylor Swift and create a riotous atmosphere that will glue your guests to the dance floor all night long.

When they’re not on stage, a playlist DJ is provided for free and if you’d like to be able to make requests, you can upgrade to a manned service for a small fee. Want to party til 1am? You can book that too!

If you fancy a chilled-out musical backdrop to the more laid-back parts of your day, The Shortwaves have you covered. Their acoustic duo are the ideal accompaniment to your drinks reception or wedding breakfast and will spread sunshine and cheer while your guests get those glasses clinking.

Top-quality PA and lighting equipment are included in your quote and the boys will even learn your first dance free of charge! Get in!

We booked The Shortwaves for our wedding and we're so glad that we did! They were absolutely amazing and we got so many compliments from our guests on how good and how much fun they were. We had guests on the dance floor all night! The process of booking them and liaising with the band in the run up was really seamless as well. The guys were absolutely lovely and super professional on the day. If you're a fan of pop/indie/rock and you're looking for a band to keep the party going, definitely book these guys!

We recently hired The Shortwaves to play at our wedding evening reception. The band were absolutely incredible and had most people up on the dance floor all night long and wanting more when it came to an end! A superb set list which contained a great mix of the old and new, and very professional service overall. The band and their admin were also great at communicating with us beforehand and making sure everything was planned and sorted in good time. We would highly recommend hiring The Shortwaves for your event!

We absolutely loved having The Shortwaves play at our wedding. They were absolutely fantastic and it was a perfect end to our day. To start with, we are so grateful that the band could accommodate us delaying the wedding 3 times due to Covid. The band turned up in good time and were very self sufficient in setting up with no issues. The performances and set list were amazing - tunes to suit the crowd and some indie belters we loved. Every guest was on their feet, dancing long into the night and didn't want them to end - I think they persuaded two encores! 5/5 would recommend to everyone. Thanks to the band again and good luck in the future!

    FAQs

    How long will The Shortwaves perform for?
    As standard, the band perform either 2x60 or 3x40 minute sets, depending on your event requirements.

    Can the band stay for longer?
    Yes - the option to include a 1am late finish is available.

    Do the band provide their own equipment?
    The Shortwaves will arrive at your event complete with a PA system and stage lighting equipment - all included in their standard fee.

    Will the band provide a DJ service?
    Yes! The Shortwaves provide a playlist DJ service included in their standard fee, which means music is covered all night even whilst the band take a break between sets. These are tried and tested playlists the band use to keep the atmosphere high whilst the band aren't on stage. You are more than welcome to request songs prior to your event and they will endeavour to include these for you.
    There's also the option to upgrade this to a manned DJ service for an extra fee, which means a member of the band will be on hand to take song requests on the night!

    Will the band learn our first dance song?
    Absolutely! Wherever possible, The Shortwaves will learn and perform one song request for your first dance, even if it's not in their repertoire.

    Do the band offer any optional extras?
    Yes - The Shortwaves can also provide an acoustic duo performance that would be perfect for drinks receptions and daytime events!

    How long do the band need to set up their equipment?
    The band will need approximately 60 minutes to set up and sound check once they have arrived at the venue (depending on access to the performance area), followed by an additional 15 minutes to get changed before taking to the stage!

    Can the band arrive earlier?
    The Shortwaves are very flexible and are happy to work to the needs of your event and arrive earlier (pre 5pm) for an extra fee.
