Sound limiters are really commonplace these days and loads of bands are able to adapt their performance to fit in with their requirements by using either electric drum kits or specialised drumsticks. This doesn't affect the quality of the sound so you can party hard without worrying that the sound will shut off! Usually, one or two of the band members will play a feel-good, summery acoustic set of songs to help create a magical atmosphere while your guests start the celebrations. Most wedding bands are onstage for a total of two hours. This is usually split into two 1-hour sets or 3x 40-minute sets to suit your schedule. The most popular option is the two longer sets as it gives the band plenty of time to build momentum and get your guests into full-on dance mode! Some bands offer additional sets if you just can't get enough.

Wedding bands will normally arrive at the venue between 5pm and 6pm and start their sound check straight away. This usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes depending on the size of the band and the complexity of their sound system. Some much larger bands can take up to three hours to complete their sound check.
