Roaming bands are incredibly versatile when it comes to repertoire. Expect to hear a varied selection of styles, from rock and pop, to soul and Motown, indie, rock 'n' roll, R'n'B, reggae, dance classics, and everything else in between!

Most roaming bands offer a choice of 2x60 or 3x40 minute sets, with some offering 2x45 sets instead. If you choose a band for your evening reception who also offer a roaming band set during the day, you can usually expect the roaming set to last a full hour. Roaming bands usually cost between £1500 and £2400 to hire for a full band performance spread over two sets. If you're looking to hire a static band for your evening reception and a roaming band for the daytime, look for a band who offer a roaming band set as an add-on. This will save you loads of money in comparison to hiring two separate acts! The add-on will usually cost between £400 and £700 which works out an awful lot cheaper and is well worth the money.

The most successful and memorable events are those where the band are able to read the crowd and play songs that they know will create the highest levels of excitement. The bands are highly-experienced and are absolute pros when it comes to choosing the right songs to play and when, so as tempting as it is to try and choose every song, we'd strongly recommend against it! However, if there are specific songs in your band's repertoire that you'd love them to play on the day, let them know and they'll endeavour to include them in their setlist.

Roaming bands are becoming more and more popular and as a result get booked further and further in advance each year. We'd recommend booking at least 18 months prior to your event if you want to secure a booking for your dream band. As with any type of wedding band, the earlier you book, the more likely it is that your favourite band will be available, so secure your booking as soon as possible! Yes! As long as the weather is agreeable, roaming bands can of course, perform outdoors. Obviously if it's raining they need to protect their precious instruments so will also be able to perform for everyone indoors instead.
