wedding regrets

Sarah and Shaun booked Bring The Noise! as their wedding band in Cardiff recently and have kindly shared their best bits along with great advice for other brides and grooms!

‘The band brought a whole other dimension to our day.’

What was your best single moment of the whole day?

I think the most enjoyable part of the day for both of us was the ceremony at the church. Saying our vows to each other in front of so many family and friends was really special. I remember us both waiting to sign the register and just looking at each other and smiling and then looking at so many faces smiling right back at us. We really tried to take in and absorb that moment.

Why did you pick your venue?

We actually had another venue booked for our wedding but due to complications we were forced to change. We had always loved St Davids Hotel & Spa and to be honest, initially we thought it was out of our price range. When we met with a wedding coordinator there, we were absolutely blown away by the facilities and by the professionalism of the staff there. When we realised how affordable the venue was, we did not hesitate to book it for our day. We knew that the team would be able to deliver the wedding reception that we had always wanted.

How did you hear about the band?

We were looking for a band to play at our wedding and had followed up on a few recommendations, which didnt work out to well. Then we came across Warble Entertainment. We spoke with Ben who asked us loads of questions to determine what it was we were really looking for and really trying to achieve. Ben was brilliant. He recommended Bring the Noise! to us and sent us links to their set lists and audio clips. As soon as we listened to their stuff, we knew we had to book the band immediately.

What did they bring to your day?

The band brought a whole other dimension to our day. We really wanted a lively evening party and the band definitely ensured that was what we got! Everybody, young or old, was up dancing, so much so that we couldn’t fit everyone on the dance floor! The band played all our favorites and kept us all partying until the small hours. Looking back at the videos, we didn’t realise how many guys were up dancing, which we totally didn’t expect. Nobody wanted the band to finish and since the wedding, everyone has raved about how amazing they were.

Did you have a first dance song and what was it?

Our first dance song was Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran.

Where did you draw inspiration or find suppliers for your wedding?

We used a variety of different sources to draw inspiration for our wedding. In terms of websites, we used Pinterest to create different boards for flowers, cakes, dresses, decor etc which allowed us to really hone what we wanted by comparing images. I was a frequent reader of BRIDES and You And Your Wedding. We also attended a lot of wedding fayres over the 18 months of planning where we got to meet with a wide range of different suppliers (and try lots of samples!). We were lucky to be supported by the Wedding Guild of Wales, who played a pivitol role in helping us achieve the wedding that we wanted.

What did you think of the service provided by Warble?

We were really impressed with the service provided by Warble. Some other entertainment companies we found to be a bit pushy, but Warble gave us plenty of time to really think about the bands that had been recommended. Communication with Warble was quick and efficient and we felt completely 100% confident in their ability to manage the booking of the band we chose.

Looking back is there anything you would change?

Nothing. We were really happy with everything on the day. Even the weather held out for us.

Best piece of advice for other couples planning their wedding?

The biggest bit of advice I would give for other couples planning their wedding is: research your suppliers before booking with them and make sure that they are reputable companies. Our suppliers went above and beyond for our day but we keep hearing about couples that are getting stung by ‘fake’ companies out there. Also, on the day, enjoy yourself – Take some time to spend just the two of you as the day will go so quickly.

Favourite suppliers:

All of our suppliers were brilliant but we really were blown away by the following;

DeVoli Cakes –
I Love Lily Flowers –
Chairman Hire http –
Bryan Gunton (Magician) –
Dyfed Menswear http –

In addition, our photographer Kate Adams absolutely excelled herself and we could not be any happier with the photographs we have received –
