Most London wedding bands will perform for a total of two hours, split over either 2x 60-minute or 3x 40-minute sets to suit your schedule. Our experience has taught us that this is the perfect amount of live music, but if you just can't get enough, ask your adviser to suggest bands who offer additional sets.

All our wedding bands provide music between sets played through a laptop or tablet free of charge, so the party doesn't stop when the band does! Some bands offer an upgrade to this service, referred to as a 'manned DJ service'. This means a member of the band will be on hand to take guests' requests and read the room to choose the next song to play. If you hire a band with a pro-DJ in their line-up, the full DJ service is usually included during the interval as standard.

The band will usually arrive between 5 and 6pm to start their sound check. This usually takes just over an hour for an average sized band but can take up to three for much larger bands or those with sound engineers and more complex sound systems. The sound check is nothing to worry about. Most venues are able to easily usher your guests away from the dance floor while it's happening but don't worry if not - they can do it really quietly!

The band will usually start their first set immediately after your first dance, which we always recommend to start at around 8.30 - 9pm to ensure the best balance of live music to recorded songs.

We kindly request that a meal and drinking water are provided for your band. Travelling across the country is tiring and they need fuel to perform their very best for you. Usually couples allow the band to eat from their buffet as there's always so much food available! If you're having a sit down 3-course meal, it's best to ask your venue to source a simple meal for your band instead. They won't expect a steak dinner!

Other than that, the band need a power supply, somewhere to get changed and store their belongings safely, and parking close to the venue to they can unload their instruments easily.
