The Apex Ceilidh Band are firm favourites at folk festivals and ceilidhs around the country, and are in great demand for weddings and parties.
The band can operate as anything from a two piece plus a caller up to the full band plus caller. They sometimes augment the band with drums and /or bass, and have a pool of excellent musicians who can step in if one of the regular musicians is not available.
The caller always makes sure that everyone feels able to join in the dances, no matter what age they are or whether they have two left feet or plenty of dancing experience. The important thing is to have loads of fun dancing to exciting music.
The band has made two well-received studio albums. Their music is a mix of traditional tunes and self-written ones. The band’s sound continues to evolve to make the music both great for dancing to but also to listen to. This is what had given the band hundreds of well-satisfied clients both at private events and also on the public Ceilidh circuit and at folk festivals in the UK and Europe.

What do we get for the fee?
The fee includes a full sound system and travel expenses. We have Public Liability Insurance and our equipment has PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) certification
What kind of music do you play?
We play a wide variety of tunes for dancing, both original and taken from traditional sources. We also have a repertoire of tunes to play between dances.
Please note that we are not a traditional Scottish or Irish band, and we don't sing the Wild Rover!
A lot of our guests haven't done this before. Will you be able to help them OK?
Our callers are used to playing for both experienced dancers and those who have never done it before. They have a selection of easy dances and everyone is guided through what to do.
How long does it take you to set up?
We like to get into the venue around 1 hour before we have to start to set up the sound system, but it only takes about 30 minutes to set up. It takes about 30 minutes to break down the equipment afterwards.
Can we play music during your break?
We bring an ipod to play incidental music through our PA when we take a break. You can bring your own CD or we have some (usually a nice bit of big band jazz). We can also plug your own digital music device into the PA.
