FAQs

How Much Does It Cost To Hire A Wedding Band In North Yorkshire?

It costs between £1700 and £2400 on average to hire a wedding band in North Yorkshire. The price you pay is dependent on a number of factors, including the size of the band, their experience and popularity and how far they'll need to travel to reach you. It makes sense to hire a North-Yorkshire-based band if that's where you're getting married!

The date of your wedding will also affect the price quoted by your band, with Fridays and Saturdays in summer, the Christmas period and New Year's Eve at a premium.

How Far In Advance Do I Need To Book My Wedding Band?

The most in-demand wedding bands in North Yorkshire get booked over two years in advance so we'd recommend getting your skates on when choosing your wedding entertainment! As soon as you've booked your wedding venue, it's time to book your wedding band to avoid disappointment.

What Type Of Music Do Wedding Bands Play?

Most wedding bands play crowd-pleasing pop and rock songs that are guaranteed to get your guests stampeding to the dance floor. The most popular type of bands for hire in North Yorkshire are pop and rock bands and folk-style acoustic bands who play a wide range of music from across different decades and styles. This is the perfect recipe for success as these songs appeal to guests of all ages. Some bands are much more niche and play songs from a particular genre instead. You'll find punk bands, country bands and jazz bands aplenty for example!

Can You Help Me Choose A Wedding Band?

That's what we do best! With so many wedding bands in North Yorkshire to choose from it can seem a little daunting to find the right one for you. Just give your adviser a little information about yourself, your venue, budget and musical preferences and they'll whip you up a shortlist of stunning wedding bands who fit the bill.

Can I Choose Which Songs I Want The Band To Play?

Within your band's repertoire there will obviously be a few songs that will be your favourites. Don't forget to let your band know which songs you love the most and they'll happily include them in their setlist. Other than that, we strongly advise leaving the rest of the song choices up to the band. Their experience has taught them how to read a room and which songs will be a sure-fire hit with your guests. Trusting the professionals to do what they do best is the recipe for success here.

How Long Does The Sound Check Take?

The average sound check takes just over an hour. If you've hired a very large band or they have a more complex set-up to test this can take up to three hours. Some bands offer an early arrival option for a small fee if it's difficult to sound check at your venue while your guests are there, but for the vast majority of bookings, the band are more than able to sound check without any disruption to your day.

What Happens When The Band Is Offstage?

To keep the party going between live sets and to ensure that there's music playing at all times during your reception, most bands will offer a playlist DJ service. This means music from a playlist on a tablet will be played while the band are having a break. Many of our wedding bands offer an upgrade to a manned DJ service, where a member of the band is available to take requests. A few bands may offer a full DJ setup with professional lighting and sound equipment, usually as an additional upgrade. It goes without saying that whichever option is included as standard when you hire a Gloucestershire wedding band, that at no point will you be left with no music to dance to!

If you're unsure what your chosen band offers, ask your Warble adviser who'll be happy to help.

Can Wedding Bands Perform At My Drinks Reception?

Many wedding bands offer daytime add-ons when you hire them for your evening entertainment. A chilled out acoustic performance is just the ticket for getting your guests to unwind and get to know each other. To find out if your favourite band offers this service, check the add-ons section of their profile. Some bands offer a variety of options and this will nearly always work out much cheaper than hiring a separate act for the daytime.

Will My Wedding Band Play Our First Dance?

This is one of the wonderful things about hiring a live band - you'll get a unique and intimate performance of your first dance song. Most bands offer this as a free service as well!

How Long Will The Band Be Onstage?

Wedding bands usually perform for a total of 2 hours, spread over 2x 60-minute or 3x 40-minute sets to fit in with your schedule. If you fancy even more live music, ask your adviser to recommend bands who offer an extra set and if you're one of the lucky few whose venue has a late curfew, many bands offer a late finish as well!

Do I Need To Hire A PA?

No. Whichever band you hire they'll bring with them their own PAT tested PA and lighting equipment, so that's one less thing to worry about!
